Katharina Sucker

Kat is an Architect and Urban Researcher originating from the Rhine Area /Germany. She took her
Bachelor of Spatial Design at the University of Arts London. After working in a couple of offices in
London and Berlin she got preoccupied with urban issues and went on to study a Master of
Architecture at the Bauhaus University in Weimar. There she is now a PHD candidate in the research
group Urban Heritage, working on memory and projection in the marketing of gated communities. Since
2008 she lives and works in Istanbul for her PhD research. The communicative aspects of space and
the mediation of architecture are decisive for her perspective of Istanbul. She joined Zeynep and
Orhan to coordinate the work of Arkistan.
